ABOUT PAP
The Pennsylvania Association of Parliamentarians (PAP) is a state association. Former National President James Jones said associations like PAP “succeed because they combine brilliant leadership and committed members with a dedication to mission and service that can only yield great results”.
In October 1957, the Pennsylvania State Organization was chartered after three units were established in the state. Those units are Alpha (May 1956), Beta (July 1957), and Gamma (October 1957). The first biennial meeting of the Pennsylvania Association was held in Philadelphia at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel.
By 1964, the Pennsylvania Association had grown to 104 members. That year the first issues of the state news, Pennsylvania Parliamentarian, were published. At the 1974 convention, the name of the State Organization was changed to the Pennsylvania Association of Parliamentarians.
Outstanding educational in-person and virtual learning opportunities are an integral part of biennial conventions and unit meetings.
PAP includes the following NAP Units:
-
Delaware Valley Unit (Philadelphia)
-
Montgomery County Unit (Glenside)
-
N. L. Carter Unit (Philadelphia)
-
Parliamentarians of Bucks County
-

-
Pennsylvania Gamma Unit (Pittsburgh)
